Council letter
The students and I have composed a "Request for Service " letter to the council in the hope that we will be able to get our Taraheru Awa cleaned up - especially by the Campion Road bridge. Below are a couple of photos of our letters and art work that we are posting to the Council. Fingers crossed we get a positive reply!!

Wai Ra
What a fantastic day we had out at Waihirere Domain. It was a bit wet underfoot but otherwise it was just pretty grey and overcast. We didn't get the rain that fell in the cityπ

Share them with your children and hear first-hand about their experiences ππΌ

6week interviews
For some of the students the six week point has just passed. I have sent home an invitation for you to make an appointment to come along so I can share the information with you and to set the student learning goal.
For some of the students the six week point has just passed. I have sent home an invitation for you to make an appointment to come along so I can share the information with you and to set the student learning goal. Unfortunately I am unable to hold them this week as I'm attending a 2 day conference in Napier dealing with raising students literacy achievement levels. I hope you do phone Liz and make a time as there are many things we need to celebrate ππ

❤️Reading
The students in Room 8 are busy learning their high frequency words, pointing to each word as they read and making personal connections with their stories. Way to go Room 8 learners!!

More museum Pictures
UHere are some more photos taken while at the museum and doing our craft activityπ
Rongowhakaata exhibit
Our museum trip was wonderful with the students learning about the Rongowhakaata iwi and going onto make their own manu. For many of them the bus trip was a highlight and the " no- touching" a wee bit of a challenge!!

Constructing Graphs
Today we were super busy constructing graphs during our math-statistics time. The students had to cut out ten different items, sort and paste them into the correct columns then answer questions that used words like "the most" and "the least". These are both mathematical terms we use instead of the biggest and smallest. If you could find opportunities to use them when you're working with your son / daughter that would be very helpful and appreciated π

Buddy Reading
Each Friday we spend some time with our Room 4 buddy class. It wasn't too hot on Friday so we went out into the back deck with our buddies and books!
